Join us at Cockayne Farmstead for a day of holiday music-making!
In the late 19th century, the five Cockayne sisters were known for their love of music and their skill in performing it. On Sunday, December 15, we will offer two performances of a Cockayne Christmas Concert with Faire May and friends, featuring Christmas favorites and historic pieces found in our collection that would have played by the Cockaynes themselves. Join us as we fill the parlor with music played just as it would have been in the Cockayne's time!
Come to the 3pm showing to see the beautiful holiday decorations by daylight, or the 8pm performance to experience the house by candlelight. Either show will be a festive experience you won't want to miss!
Tickets are $15 ($10 for members of the Marshall County Historical Society) and MUST be purchased in advance. Due to the limited nature of the space inside the farmhouse, only 20 tickets will be available for each performance. Please call the Farmstead at (304) 845-1411 to purchase tickets.
In between shows, we will also be going caroling around the neighborhood, continuing a tradition begun last year that was received with great enthusiasm! We will begin at the Visitor Center at 6:30 and take a short route around the neighborhood to be back in time for the second concert. No previous singing experience is required and songbooks will be provided. Come join us in spreading some Christmas cheer!
(No ticket is required for caroling.)
