The Marshall County Historical Society will host a special speaker for our Quarterly Membership meeting in October. On October 23 at 6pm, Tom Tarowsky will present “Things That Go Bump at Cockayne,” relating his many spooky and strange experiences in the 19th century farmhouse during his days as the first site manager. Hear tales of strange appearances, eerie noises, and odd coincidences that were all part of the early days of the Cockayne project. The presentation will take place in the farmhouse’s North Parlor. It is free for Historical Society members (or those who join or renew their membership that day); for non-members there will be a $5 admission fee.
After the presentation there will be a brief meeting about the latest Historical Society events and developments, followed by a fire outside with s’mores and snacks (donations for snacks are appreciated). Scarecrow Lane will also be set up at the Farmstead, so guests can see the scarecrows and vote for their favorites. All are invited to join us for this fun fall evening!
