Bring your lunch and join us at the Cockayne Farmstead every other Thursday from 12:00-1:00 pm throughout the Summer to listen to local experts speak on various local history topics. Enjoy the nice weather, interesting speakers, and snacks and refreshments provided by the Cockayne Farmstead. Attendance is free and open to the public. Seating will be provided, but bring a lawn chair if you want extra comfort!
Andrea Keller, Cultural Program Coordinator for Grave Creek Mound Archaeological Complex, will be discussing prehistoric Adena people who lived at a time when horticulture was just getting started in this part of the world. Crops grown in the garden will be used to discuss some of the plants grown by Native Americans in the Upper Ohio River Valley in a show-and-tell presentation.
