Bring your lunch and join us at the Cockayne Farmstead every other Thursday from 12:00-1:00 pm throughout the Summer to listen to local experts speak on various local history topics. Enjoy the nice weather, interesting speakers, and snacks and refreshments provided by the Cockayne Farmstead. Attendance is free and open to the public.
C.J. Plogger, author of Pronounced Dead: The Executions at the West Virginia Penitentiary and Life at the West Virginia Penitentiary: The Story of Maggie Gray, will present on the principles, daily activity, and significant events that helped to shape the penitentiary into one of the most violent penal institutions in the United States of America.
